Pornography & Abuse
Studies Link Porn to Sexual Assault
Australian Institute of Criminology
Includes New Zealand and Australian information
For one person to abuse another, the perpetrator must first objectify their victim. We have seen the destructive effects of mass-scale objectification in Nazi Germany, and in past attitudes to black slaves, where all types of abuse (including rape and murder) became ‘justifiable’ to the perpetrators. Pornography assists the process of objectifying women and, in the case of child pornography, children. Women and children deserve better.
