Erotica Expo: sexing-up gangs

There was a significant gang presence at the 2007 Erotica Expo in Palmerston North.

Patched gang-members and strippers from gang-owned Firecats strip club featured strongly in the Boobs on Bikes parade, and Firecats was listed among the 'exhibits' at the Expo.

This year (2010), Boobs on Bikes is also passing through Whanganui. At present (24 Mar 2010), Erotica's "Briefing" page for Boobs on Bikes participants reads:

Remember Wanganui's “no gang insignia” bylaw and please respect it...

Clearly, gangs will again be involved in the parade, but the ban on patches does not apply in Palmerston North or other centres.

We do NOT want gang culture and businesses promoted to indiscriminate audiences, including children.

“Even soft-core pornography portrays women as sex objects who exist only to give sexual satisfaction to men. They are ‘pets’ or ‘playmates’ valued only from the neck down. Many porn addicts now admit they find it hard not to view women as chunks of meat because of viewing pornography.”
— Shelley Lubben (a.k.a. “Roxy”), former porn actress
“Many porn actresses admit they’ve experienced sexual abuse, physical abuse, verbal abuse and neglect by parents which ultimately led them to the porn industry. Some were raped or physcially abused by relatives and molested by neighbors... I have yet to meet a porn star that doesn't have either physical or sexual abuse in her background... Porn is NOT glamorous.”
